Projects
SHANGHAI (YUKON) – AU, AG
A Premier Exploration Project in the Prolific Tombstone Gold Belt
The Shanghai project is T2 Metals most recent acquisition, located in the Tombstone Gold Belt of Canada’s Yukon Territory. This highly prospective project is strategically located in one of North America’s most exciting gold and silver exploration districts.
The project was secured through an Option Agreement with renowned explorer Shawn Ryan and lies within 10km of five NI43-101 resource stage projects. The Shanghai Project comes with a Class 3 permit already in place, allowing for immediate exploration activities including drilling, road construction, and the installation of a camp.
Highlights
- Large Landholding: The 27.4 sq km project provides a significant and prospective land position in a well-established mining district.
- Proven Gold Belt: Situated in the Tombstone Gold Belt, an area known for its world-class intrusion-related gold and silver deposits.
- Proximity to Major Discoveries: The project is located midway between multiple resource-stage gold projects including AurMac, Eagle, and Raven, and lies just 12 km west of Hecla Mining’s Keno Hill silver mine.
- Advanced Permitting: The existing Class 3 permit provides an immediate advantage, allowing the Company to rapidly advance exploration and begin drilling.
Location and Access
The Shanghai Gold-Silver Project is located in the Mayo Mining District of the Yukon, a region with a long and rich history of mining and exploration. The project is easily accessible via the Yukon highway network and the Eagle Gold Mine road. Its proximity to active and advanced-stage projects simplifies logistics and provides access to experienced regional service providers.
The project’s strategic position within the Tombstone Gold Belt places it in a corridor of significant gold discoveries, all characterized as intrusion-related gold systems.
Geology and Mineralization
The Shanghai Gold-Silver Project exhibits the key geological and structural features indicative of a prospective intrusion-related gold system. Previous regional exploration has included extensive soil sampling that identified multiple gold, silver, antimony and bismuth anomalous areas. The project’s geological setting, combined with its location near major mineralized bodies, makes it a prime target for a new discovery.
Exploration Potential & The Path Forward
With the acquisition and the Class 3 permit in place, our technical team is positioned to immediately begin a systematic exploration program. The path forward includes:
- Detailed soil and rock sampling to define high-priority drill targets.
- Geophysical surveys to identify buried intrusions and structural features.
- Phase 1 diamond drilling to test the most compelling targets.
